空から上永谷を見るとこんな感じです。横浜市の南部に位置しているため、明治時代は鎌倉郡でした。 
右の白黒の写真は終戦直後のものです。まだ山と田んぼばかリだったことが判ります。
  左は平成2年の写真。市営地下鉄の上永谷駅が開設 されてから急速に宅地開発が進みました。
Kaminagaya is the hilly part locating NW of Kounan Ward,YOKOHAMA,you will see Kaminagaya was heavily wooded and covered with rice fields from the right bird view-phot in 1947, recently undergone large-scale housing development and construction of Kaminagaya Station on the Munincipal Subway.
